Update from Administrator – May 15, 2020
Some great news to share with you all. All 311 tests for residents AND staff at Plymouth rehabilitation and Health Care Center came back NEGATIVE! We are ecstatic for everyone and hope you share in our joy!
Most of you already know that we are an Athena Health Care Systems’ managed center, which means we are part of southern New England’s largest provider of skilled nursing and post-acute care services. As such, we have access to many policies and procedures to plan for such circumstances and access to additional resources for planning and contingencies.
As a reminder:
- As you will remember, we began restricting visitors since before the state directed us to out of an abundance of caution.
- As you know, guidelines and recommendations from state health departments and the CDC are updated on a daily basis – and we are staying on top of them and adjusting as quickly as possible to meet them.
- We continue to take a full set of resident vitals each shift along with their O2 saturation level. We are observing also for subtle changes (increased weakness, confusion, agitation).
- We continue to focus on keeping the building clean – paying special attention to high-touch areas, disinfecting, monitoring our cleaning supply levels and any updates and guidelines form the CDC in this area.
At the start of each employee’s shift, they are required to
- Sign in
- Get their temperature and Oxygen saturation taken.
- Answer a series of questions on their health, their recent travel and if they have been in contact with someone known to have COVID-19
We will continue to do the above and everything “right,” knowing this doesn’t guarantee our status will remain the same, but we are thankful for our situation.
Through all of this, we remain appreciative of your support and kind words of encouragement to our team.
