Update from Administrator – November 18, 2020

Dear Residents, Families, and Employees:

Below is the most recent update about COVID-19 in our center. Last week, I alerted you about a vendor who had been in our center who was positive. As a result of testing our entire staff and residents, sadly, today I must inform you that we now have positive residents and staff in Plymouth Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

If your loved one tests positive, you have already received a phone call.

Below is a brief overview of what we have done, and will continue to do, to ensure for everyone’s safety and health at Plymouth rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

  • All residents and staff will continue to be tested.
  • The testing will take place weekly for at least two weeks to ensure that no one is positive.
  • Positive employees are quarantining themselves at home and following CDC and MA DPH guidance.
  • Positive residents have been relocated within our center to our “Observation” unit to further mitigate the spread within the center. They will be closely monitored and cared for by specific staff.
  • We continue to audit our staff for proper PPE donning / doffing, hand hygiene, etc.
  • Continue to require all staff to be screened before and during each shift – questionnaires and temperature checks.
  • Out of an abundance of caution, the whole center is being monitored with additional vital signs taken per shift. Any residents near the affected residents are on specific COVID precautions.
  • State and local health departments have been notified and consulted; we are following their guidance.

Indoor Visits

  • Indoor, Hospice, and Compassionate care visits will continue for residents on negative units only at this time. Any residents that may live on the positive unit may only have window visits.

Outside & “Alternative” Visits

  • Please know that outside and “alternative” visitations will continue. We will work to continue to do outside visits on our patio for as long as possible and window visits are still possible.
  • Remember that we do offer iPads for our residents to use for video visits, phone calls, etc. to ensure that you and your loved ones remain in contact, as best as you can during these very uncertain times.

As I have mentioned in the very recent past, this pandemic is still very much active in our state and region. This situation serves as a reminder that we must all remain vigilant in following all guidelines, recommendations, and best practices to stay safe and fight this pandemic.

We will provide all updates as they become available and I encourage you to contact us directly with questions specific to your loved one. You may also utilize Info@PlymouthRehab.com to reach us, which is a general email address that is monitored by several department heads, in the event I am unable to respond to you in a timely manner.
